Indonesian state logistics firm Bulog has purchased palm oil products worth $37.3 million from two local firms as part of a counter-trade deal with Russia, a Bulog spokesman said on Tuesday.
Indonesia bought warplanes from Russia in an exchange for 30 kinds of commodities, mainly palm oil, under a barter deal last year.
Bulog official Johan Yudha Sanitise told reporters the firm had paid $415.25 per tonne for 1,000 tonnes of RBD palm oil, $425.1 per tonne for 61,680 tonnes of RBD palm olein, and $385 a tonne for 27,578 tonnes of RBD palm stearin, FOB basis.
Sanitise said the total $37.3 million marked the last payment of the counter-trade deal worth $193 million. "Shipments have started in stages since September with suppliers from PT Bucket Kaput Reeks and PT MultiMate Nagata Ashen," Sanitise said.
