About 150 oil and gas firms from some 30 countries, including 13 US companies, are attending an international energy conference this week in Tripoli in another sign Libya is moving fast toward ending its international isolation, government officials said on Wednesday.
The event, officially called Libya Energy Week, runs from Tuesday to Friday. It will allow local gas and oil experts to be updated on new oil and gas exploration and production technology and offer opportunities of co-operation with foreign firms.
Libya has taken significant steps to win over Western countries and end three decades of isolation and ostracism.
