Turkey's talks with the International Monetary Fund on a new economic programme are expected to last until the end of this year, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday.
An IMF staff mission arrived in Turkey on Wednesday night and is set to start official talks on a new standby loan facility to support a three-year economic programme, as the existing loan deal expires in February.
"Negotiations with the IMF will last until the end of the year, and we will have started the new process at the end or maybe before the end of this year," the prime minister told a news conference.
