The government of the Russian Federation has suggested holding of a meeting at experts level in Moscow to discuss specific matters pertaining to bilateral trade and economic co-operation between Pakistan and Russia.
The experts will prepare for the inaugural session of the Russia-Pakistan IGC on trade, economic and scientific and technological co-operation and finalise its dates.
The Russian side has proposed that Pakistan's experts level delegation may be led by the Economic Affairs Division Secretary with representatives from ministries of finance, commerce, industries and production.
The following subjects would constitute the agenda of the meeting:
-The finalisation and signing of the addendum of the bilateral agreement on the settlement of Pakistan's debt to Russia (approximately 175 million dollar).
-The conclusion of a draft agreement on mutual obligations (the claims of Pakistani exporters).
-An understanding on the status of the credit by Technopromexport, Russia, in 1987 to Wapda for the construction of the "Multan -2" power generation agreement.
The Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Finance and Statistics, government of Pakistan, has proposed the dates from September 20 to 24 for the experts level meeting in Moscow. Confirmation from Russian side is still awaited.
