Russia imports 21,850 tonnes palm oil

Russian imports of palm oil, the major item in the country's vegetable oil imports, were 21,850 tonnes in July, down from 25,120 in the previous month, an analyst said on Friday.
Palm oil imports totalled 352,340 tonnes since the start of the 2003/04 marketing year in September 2003.
The country imported 322,000 tonnes of palm oil in the whole of the previous 2002/2003 season, Vladimir Petrichenko of WJ interrogator trading company said. Top suppliers of palm oil to Russia in July were Indonesia with 12,937 tonnes and Malaysia with 5,657 tonnes.
