A two-member bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed six review petitions of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) against employees and directed the petitioner to implement judgement of the court in full spirit according to its contents.
The apex court comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan. Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui and Justice Javed Iqbal heard arguments of the counsels of the petitioner (PS0) and dismissed all the six review petitions.
Siddique Mirza Advocate and Sheikh Anwar-ul-Haq Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the Pakistan State Oil. Sheikh Riaz-ul-Haq represented respondents (employees) in the court.
Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui also directed employees to work with sincerity and said, "No any employer can terminate services of employees if they work honestly for the betterment of the organisation."
Giving remarks over the policy of organisations to terminate employees from service, Justice Javed Iqbal said, "Policy of pick and choose is unjustified and there is no law to terminate hundreds of employees on such basis."
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan State Oil filed review petitions against Anwar Hayat Khan, Naeem Ullah Bhatti, Ikramullah, Amjad Naseer Khan, Imran Mujtaba and Saleem Ullah Khan.
