Najam elected RCCI president

Najam Rehan a businessman of General Trading, has been elected as new President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), for the year 2004-05, while Jalil Ahmed Malik and Asad Haider Mashadi were elected as senior vice president and vice president of the chamber respectively.
The executive committee of the chamber in its important meeting regarding election of the working body of the chamber has elected these three businessmen for the top offices of chamber unanimously and unopposed.
Elections were held at chamber office and results were announced by the Returning Officer R. A. Zafar Chaudhry.
It may be recalled that the elections of 14 vacant seats of the executive committee were held on September 15, in which Mian Pervaiz Aslam Group has made a clean sweep by defeating Business Group.
With the election on 14 vacant seats the executive committee completed its strength of 24 members to elect president, senior vice president and vice president of the chamber.
Thanking the RCCI seniors, executive committee members and business community of the area for his election as RCCI president, Najam Rehan said that he would use his efforts to come over the expectation of the business community of the region.
He assured that he would make all-out efforts to resolve issues confronting to the business community.
He said that RCCI following the past practices would continue to act as bridge between government and trade circles and play an effective role in resolving the problems of the business community.
Speaking on the occasion group leader and former RCCI president, Mian Parvaiz Aslam congratulated newly elected office bearers of the chamber and expressed hope that they will continue the policies of the chamber for the welfare and betterment of the business community.
"It is tradition of RCCI to work hard for the business community's interests besides playing vital role for the socio-economic development of the country", he added.
Hussain Ahmed Ozgen the retiring RCCI president congratulated Najam Rehan, Jalil Malik and Asad Mashadi for their election as president, senior vice president and vice president of the chamber and assured them of his full co-operation in attaining their desired goals for the interests of the business community.
"I am sure that new body will follow the footsteps of the seniors and work for business community and nation with complete dedication and devotion", he added.
"We have completed our tenure and used all our energies to come over the expectations of the business community and serve them in a way they feel safe, secure and proud", Ozgen said and added that he and his team worked for businessmen without any discrimination.
Speaking on the occasion former presidents of RCCI including Sabir Hussain Butt, Ikramullah Lone, Najam-ul-Haq Malik, Sh. Shabbir, Amanullah Khan, S. M. Azeem, S. M. Naseem, Ishfaq Mahmood Khan, Sohail Altaf and Osman Khalid Waheed congratulated the newly elected executives and hoped that they will perform their sacred duties very diligently and assured full support and co-operation in day to day work.
