The country representative of UNFPA Dr Olivier Brasseur, on Wednesday called on Sindh Chief Secretary Aslam Sanjrani and briefed him about UNFPA's Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP).
Secretary, Services and General Administration, Aijaz Hussain Kazi, Secretary, Population Welfare Mushtaq Ali Memon, Additional Secretary, Health M. Iqbal Deewan, UNFPA delegate Dr Nasreen and Additional Secretary Population Welfare Ms Nasreen Ali were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Secretary emphasised upon quality services to benefit the masses with specific reference to devolution. He asked the Secretary, Population Welfare to ensure implementation of his department's task from district to Taluka and Union Council levels.
CPAP has a four-year seventh country programme launched for capacity building for physical infrastructure and human resources (mainly midwives and lady health visitors) to fill the wide gap of female health workers.

It follows a specific structure with expected output, key activities, timeframe and responsible party.
The CPAP would cost US$35 million, however, the share for Sindh province could be around US$ 4 million. During the current calendar year, Sindh would get US$ 0.368 million.
