Dispelling the impression of any delay in the construction work of the Committee Chowk underpass, Tehsil Nazim Raja Hamid Nawaz has said the its construction will be completed before the stipulated time.
"We have given the time-frame of 90 days for the completion of this important project, and I am sure that the work will be completed before the time", Hamid Nawaz said while talking to media men here on Wednesday.
He said some unscrupulous people are spreading misinformation to create panic and distress among people, adding: "They are doing nothing right with the masses and the society. They are frustrated people and bent upon to create frustration."
Hamid Nawaz, who is also chairman, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), said Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi is seeking report of the project every week, and reviewing the pace of the work regularly.
"We are well aware of the problems of the people due to closure of the traffic on Murree Road, and efforts are under way to open this important road for traffic before Eid-ul-Fitr", he said, adding the people should not pay any heed to the propaganda of the frustrated element.
