Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz visited the mazar of poet-philosopher Allama Iqbal on Thursday, where DG Rangers Major General Hussain Mehdi received him. A smartly turned out contingent of Rangers presented the guard of honour to the premier.
The Prime Minister laid a floral wreath on the tomb of Allama Iqbal and offered Fateha for the eternal peace of great philosopher. In his remarks in the visitors' book, the Prime Minister observed: "All of us as Pakistani need to be inspired by Allama Iqbal's philosophy, thoughts and vision about Pakistan. His deep thoughts and poetry have been a source of strength to all Pakistanis and many others all over the world."
Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) and Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also accompanied him. Later the Prime Minister left for Islamabad.
