District Council Lahore (DCL) in its meeting on Thursday unanimously approved enhancement in parking fee, and passed a resolution demanding President General Pervez Musharraf to stay in uniform to ensure continuity of economic policies and accomplish war against terrorism.
The parking fee has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 10 for car and jeep and Rs 3 to Rs 5 for motorcycle on parking stands located at 32 various roads falling in the jurisdiction of City District Government.
It is pertinent to mention the Finance Committee of District Council and District Nazim Lahore have already approved the enhancement in parking fee.
The meeting maintained President Musharraf must stay in uniform for the prosperity, economic development, continuity of reforms programme and war against terrorism.
Only six members belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami opposed the resolution. Naveed Sadiq said uniform issue should be settled at GHQ level and District Council Lahore must not adopt such a resolution.
