I would be failing in my moral duty - in case I do not record my utter sense of gratitude for your extraordinary patriotism, which does not prevent you from publishing in your respected daily, strong constructive criticisms of even our senior most political leaders/bureaucrats.
My special thanks are due, with your anticipated courtesy, to your regular contributor, Colonel Riaz Jafri (Retd), for his most thought-provoking letter published in your recent issue under the heading" for once"!
For information of your esteemed self, and intellectual readers, please note that the office of our beloved province's Chief Minister, on the excuse of being pre-occupied with our country's President's visit to Karachi, have expressed its inability to provide me, replies for investments in Pakistan by an American citizen, originally a Karachiite, and two other Pakistani nationals living in a legal manner in USA!
All the mentioned three individuals, the proof of which has been provided to the office of our Chief Minister, would establish a hospital and also contemplate the establishment of labour-intensive/export-oriented industries of granite and marble, with total investments in American dollars.
It is high time that our feudal politicians and their inefficient world-known corrupt bureaucrats stop their nonsensical statement concerning their so-called interest and desire in encouraging overseas investments, especially by our nationals living abroad, in a legal manner, and toiling for their earnings overseas, where, as you know, the facilities available to the capitalists' in Pakistan, can never be thought of!
With your anticipated courtesy in the publication of this letter, and also letters of leading personalities like Colonel Jafri, it is to be hoped that my friends abroad wishing to invest in our troubled and wilfully ruined city of Karachi, would be provided with the desired co-operation expected from the office of the province's Chief Minister.
