The Federal Minister for Railways Mian Shamim Haider visited the Qadhafi Town Railway crossing on Friday where an overhead bridge is to be constructed under the President's package for Karachi, says a press release.
The Federal Minister was received by Chairman Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) Lieutenant Colonel Syed Akbar Hussain (Retd) at the site.
According to sources this venture is being jointly undertaken by the Export Processing Zones Authority and Pakistan Railways at an estimated cost of Rs 248 Million.
The consultant engineer later briefed the federal minister regarding various aspects of the project which will facilitate the traffic flow in the adjacent Landhi and Korangi Industrial areas, the release added.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the EPZA and Pakistan Railways in contributing towards infrastructure development of Karachi City under the President's Package.
The release further stated that the minister later on, also visited Export Processing Zones Authority and attended a briefing by the Chairman Lieutenant Colonel Syed Akbar Hussain (Retd) who gave an overview of the activities and achievements of the Authority towards the growth of export oriented industries in the country.
The Federal Minster appreciated the efforts of the EPZA team in accelerating the pace of export oriented industrial growth in the country, it concluded.-PR
