Pakistan People's party Azad Jammu and Kashmir has threatened to hold protest long march on Islamabad to press the government to release Asif Ali Zardari.
"We will march towards Islamabad from the every corner of Azad Kashmir if Zardari was not released by Eid-ul-Fitr " PPP AJK chief Sahibzada Mohammad Ishaq Zafar threatened while addressing a rally at Bagh, 80-km south-east of here.
Sister of Asif Zardari, Dr Azra, members of National Assembly Murtaza Satti and Begum Shamshad Bachani, former minister and PPP AJK leader Sardar Qammaruzman, former speaker Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and Khalid Chughtai also addressed the rally, organised by local PPP chapter to start a protest campaign for the release of Zardari.
Ishaq Zafar said Pakistan was passing through a crucial time of its history and was facing grave crises and only Benazir Bhutto can bail out country from prevailing threats.
He observed that politically and economically stable Pakistan can bring nearer goal of freedom to Kashmiris who do not have any supporter in the world, except Pakistan.
AJK PPP chief reiterated that Kashmiris would not accept any solution of Kashmir dispute without their participation in the ongoing negotiations.
"We welcome talks between Pakistan and India but genuine leadership of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto should be taken into confidence before reaching any accord on Kashmir."
Zafar demanded that PPP chairperson and Mian Nawaz Sharif should be allowed to come back to the country and taken into confidence over all the issues.
He said that Due to the wrong policies of the government brother is killing brother in Wana.
Ishaq Zafar announced that PPP AJK would also organise protest rallies to press government for immediate release of Zardari and return of Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan.
"99 percent people of Pakistan want Asif Zardari to be the president of Pakistan instead of General Pervez Musharraf," he stated.
AJK PPP chief urged world powers not to back military dictator in Pakistan and support only democratic forces of the country.
Zafar claimed that masses of Pakistan was suffering a lot following the economic policies of present rulers making poor poorer and rich richer.
Hitting hard on AJK ruling party Muslim conference, AJK PPP chief stated that AJK politicians were at loggerhead to grab power. He claimed that AJK rulers do not have any interests for the betterment of poor people of the State.
