Greeting messages from world leaders continue to pour in for Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz who assumed charge of his office last month.
The leaders wished him success and progress and prosperity of the country.
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair in his message said, "As Finance Minister you have been instrumental in implementing a difficult process of reform, which has set the economy firmly on the path to stability and sustainable growth."
As prime Minster, I know that you will continue to face equally important challenges which will require your perseverance and resolve. I look forward to working with you on these challenges as our two countries continue to cooperate closely in the global war on terror and on our other shard objectives, including immigration, drugs poverty elimination and strengthening and deepening relations between the West and Islamic countries," Tony Blair added.
Prime Minister of Norway Kjell Mange Bondevik in his message said, "The democratic process that brought this about bodes well for the future of Pakistan. My Government also welcomes the economic and political reforms undertaken by the Government of Pakistan in recent years, not least the bold steps taken during your term as Finance Minister. We are confident that this reform process will be continued under your leadership.
He said, "Norway looks forward to continuing its co-operation with the Government of Pakistan. As you may know, there are more than 25,000 people of Pakistani origin in Norway, who make an important contribution to Norwegian society. This is the largest non-European immigrant community in the country and underlines the strong ties between Norway and Pakistan."
Prime Minister of Kingdom of Belgium Guy Verhofstadt in his message of felicitation said "Your experience as Minister of Finance will without any doubt help you continue the process of political and economic reforms.
"I am confident that, under your leadership, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is fully committed to the further strengthening of democracy, the well-being of the people and the prosperity of Pakistan. "
Prime Minister of Portugal Pedro Santana Lopes in a message of felicitations said; "Reiterating my Government's commitment to strengthen the bilateral ties that link our two nations and hoping to meet you soon, please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic BounNhang Vorachith in a message said "1 am looking forward to co-operating with Your Excellency in enhancing further the existing friendly ties and co-operation between our two countries for further development of interest of the people of our two nations as well as for peace, stability and co-operation for development in the region and in the world."
Prime Minister of Syria Naji Al-Otari in a message said; "I am confident that the co-operation and friendly ties between our countries will continue to develop and strengthen for our two peoples benefit."
Secretary General of Commonwealth Rt. Hon Donald C Mckinnon in a greetings message said, "Pakistan's role in the Commonwealth is a significant one and I am confident that under your leadership the relations between Pakistan and the Commonwealth will be further strengthened.
"I look forward to meeting you later this year when I visit Pakistan, and to working with you to promote the shared Commonwealth objectives of democracy and development.
