The Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) executive committee held a meeting on Thursday to welcome its new Chairman Haji Ibrahim and pay farewell to its outgoing Chairman Saith Gathanund Kohistani.
It was good gathering since all the members of the PCGA executive council was present to accord warm welcome to the new Chairman Haji Ibrahim said Shaikh Saeed a former PCGA chairman in his statement issued here on Thursday.
Shaikh Saeed hoped that PCGA would play more effective role in the leadership of Haji Ibrahim and strengthen its relations with the government and other stakeholders of cotton sector.
In his maiden address, Haji Ibrahim pledged that PCGA would leave no stone unturned in protecting ginners' interests during his tenure. He said that he would also make all-out efforts in establishing cordial relations between the ginners and other stakeholders of the cotton sector.
The newly elected PCGA chairman also urged upon his fellow ginners that they should have close interaction among them to keep themselves informed in the fast changing market. He also stressed the need of up-gradation of ginneries to meet the challenges of the WTO regime coming ahead.
