Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has stressed the need for promotion of national interests instead of personal priorities and asked the party workers to take practical steps for the implementation of PML manifesto.
Talking to a PML workers at Governor's House on Sunday, the Prime Minister said "Time has come to work for the well-being of common man."
He said, "PML is the party of all of us" and added that by the grace of God, today PML has formed government at the centre and in three provinces. "No matter if we don't have government in the NWFP, but PML is the second largest political party in the Frontier Province. Opposition has its own role to play in a democratic set up," he said.
The Prime Minister urged the party leaders and ministers to mobilise party workers by conducting countrywide tours in order to motivate the people that PML is the real political force of the country which has a solid agenda of improving their lot.
He called upon the workers for initiating serious efforts to strengthen cause of the Muslim League, and to achieve the desired results, party workers should ensure unity in their ranks.
He also called for increasing liaison and contacts with the people. Party workers are our frontline and they must prepare themselves for the upcoming local government elections next year. He expressed the hope that the PML would win the 2007 general elections on account of its performance.
He emphasised the workers to work for promoting national priorities by putting aside the personal interests.
About the formation of large cabinet, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said, cabinet members are expected to demonstrate practical work and expressed the hope that they would take tangible steps in this regard.
About reduction in price of LPG cylinder by 18 percent, he said, it is an important decision of the present government and added that his regime kept the interest of the masses supreme.
He called upon the party workers to apprise the people of the steps being taken for the welfare of common man.
He said radical reforms are being taken in public sector entities like telephone, oil and gas, water and power etc to provide relief to the general public. Major steps are being taken in the agriculture sector to give boost to the agri products.
