Bangladesh and US sign accord to avoid double taxation

Bangladesh and the United States on Sunday signed an agreement to avoid double taxation, with both sides expecting the deal to boost investment and enhance their economic relations.
"This agreement will go a long way in assuring the American businessmen that there is transplantation and stability," the US Ambassador to Bangladesh Harry K. Thomas Junior told reporters after signing the deal.
Bangladesh and the United States first started discussions on ending double taxation in 1977.
The accord contains 29 articles about different matters to avoid double taxation between the two countries and rules similar to the agreements signed with other countries earlier.
