Singapore bunker prices were stable on Wednesday, tracking fuel oil cargo values that were broadly unchanged.
Dealers said 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel oil was pegged at $191-$194 a tonne, unchanged from Tuesday, while 180-cst prices were at $199-$201.
"There was not much demand today except for some stragglers looking for prompt delivery bunkers. Some ship-owners were still looking for September 30 deliveries but almost the entire market has no supply for those dates," a Singapore-based bunker supplier.
"If I had oil for that date, I would have sold at $200 a tonne and they would have bought!"
A major sold 1,000 tonnes of 380-cst, for delivery October 4, at $195.
The Hong Kong bunkers is also tight on supplies and is expected to remain so until the end of next month. A replenishment cargo of 50,000 tonnes is expected in early October but the cargo has been entirely committed, said a Hong Kong-based supplier.
The South Korean bunker market has been inactive since Monday due to a three-day public holiday but some suppliers said the market is also tight and prices were up by about $15, at around $215 a tonne.
