The Medical Director of the Fauji Foundation's Shaukat Omar Memorial Hospital, Dr Qudsia Shaukat Umar said here on Thursday that the dental camp organised by the hospital on September 28 at its premises was a great success.
She said that over five hundred persons benefited from the camp where five dentists from outside and two dentists of the hospital handled the patients. Similar camps have been scheduled by the hospital in the coming days specially for the poorer sections of the population living in Faisal Colony where the hospital is situated, Dr Qudsia added.
The Medical Director Shaukat Omar Hospital disclosed that the hospital has been expanded into 150 beds with the latest medical and surgical equipment, and free special check-up services for those suffering from TB.
She said that the armed forces personnel and retired servicemen were treated free at the hospital while thirty percent of the patients comprised civilians from the area who were also mostly given free or very low cost treatment and care, matching the services of any hospital in Karachi.
Dr Qudsia pointed out that the Fauji Foundation while managing the hospital had always provided for the addition of latest medical equipment for treating different ailments and diseases with the result that the number of patients registering at the hospital is on the rise.
