RAWALPINDI: Condemning brutal killings of innocent Kashmiri youth by the Indian forces, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday sought international community’s help in resolving the long standing dispute.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) reiterated that the world needs to recognize the aspirations of people of Indian-Occupied Kashmir, their struggle for freedom and help resolve the long standing dispute for lasting amity in Kashmir and enduring peace in the region.
He said this while chairing the Corps Commanders Conference held here at the General Headquarters, said a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The forum also took an in-depth review of internal security situation and discussed professional matters.
The COAS appreciated the relentless efforts of Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies towards ensuring peace and security during Eid days in the face of numerous threats.
The ISPR statement further said that external security situation was also comprehensively discussed with particular emphasis on situation in Afghanistan.
To scrutinize cross-border movement and ensure strict check on terrorist’s movement, the forum reviewed progress of measures being taken for effective border management, it added.
