London robusta coffee futures fell towards contract lows on origin and fund selling on Friday as conviction grew that weather forecasts in Brazil are improving, traders said.
Front month November finished $26, or 3.9 percent, lower at $636 a tonne in volume of 9,679 lots, having moved between $668 and $631.
The contract low is $628.
The Liffe September contract went off the board on Friday, with January becoming the second month.
Traders said funds had sold positions in London and New York, and that worries over dry weather in Brazil had receded.
Private forecaster Meteorlogix predicted scattered showers for Brazil's coffee belt from Friday through Monday, which will significantly help the flowering for stressed trees.
