Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Khalid Firoz in a letter to Home Secretary Brigadier Ghulam Mohammed (Retd) and Inspector General of Police (Sindh) Syed Kamal Shah has expressed serious concern over dacoity and theft at Ameco, a Customs bonded warehouse situated at Hawksbay Road from where 530 bags industrial goods were looted.
He said it is a second case whereby industrial goods and raw materials have been looted after recent case of burglary occurred in electronics market in Karachi.
He said this incident looks to be an isolated and single in nature, but might be an indication of first attempt of organised criminal activity, affecting the industrial and trading sector very badly.
Rather it is very scary and would have serious consequences if not checked at this point.
He urged them for taking immediate action to ensure that the looted goods are recovered and culprits are arrested.
