Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, condemning killing of innocent people in Multan bomb blast on Thursday, said those involved in this heinous crime were anti-nation elements.
Addressing a press conference ,he ordered the administration to provide free-medical aid to victims of Multan bomb blast and announced Rs 500,000 to the heirs of victims and Rs 50,000 for injured in bomb blast.
Criticising the district governments for violating instructions in which provincial government in unequivocal terms had prohibited holding of a meeting by banned religious groups, the Chief Minister stated unfortunately our guideline was not adhered to.
He stated that government was close on trial of Sialkot bomb blast incident and various dimensions in that regard were being probed.
He said aspect of involvement of a foreign hand in the incident was also being looked into.
To a question he agreed terrorism in areas of economic importance such as Sialkot and now in cotton belt area of Multan could be a possibility to deter our good economic endeavours.
About performance of police, he indicated that with 10,000 new entrants and flow of additional facility including new weapons, and transport, improvement was there. 'Terrorism is an international hazard and such unfortunate incidents could occur', he added.
He stated that provincial government had also asked for holding of meeting of Ittehad -e- Bain-ul-Musalmeen to promote religious harmony in the province.
