Business community has expressed sorrow and grief over loss of precious lives in a bomb blast incident at Multan.
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, Senior Vice-President Sohail Lashari and Vice-President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that during last some days, as many as 80 people lost their lives while hundreds of others sustained injuries in Sialkot and Multan blasts. They said that both the incidents were a conspiracy hatched against Islam and Pakistan.
They also claimed that terrorists involved in these incidents are bent upon to damage credibility of Pakistan at international level, so the government must adopt strict measures to stop such incidents in future. They urged the government to impart special training to officials of law enforcing agencies while proper security arrangements should be made at sensitive points to avoid such incidents in future. They also appealed to the people to remain peaceful.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (Piaf) Chairman Muhammad Ali Mian and Vice-Chairmen Mubashar Sheikh and Mian Abuzarshad have claimed that enemy by carrying out such activities wanted to hinder economic activities and investment process. They said that enemy was so clever that by targeting imam bargahs and mosques it wanted to paint such incidents as sectarian clashes. They hailed that people of Pakistan were foiling such designs of enemy through forging unity in their ranks. They urged President of Pakistan, Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab to take steps to stop this wave of lawlessness.
They also proposed that the government representatives should immediately visit Chambers of Commerce and other trade bodies to start consultation for a joint strategy to curb this tendency.
Meanwhile, Executive Committee member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Irfan Qaiser has also expressed his sorrow and grief over bomb blast at Multan, which claimed scores of innocent lives and injured many others. He said that this incident was an attempt to foil the efforts of attracting investment and expediting economic activities and industrial process.
