The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday taking up a petition against closure of Shahzad Theatre, Faisalabad granted provisional permission to stage plays, dramas etc.
The petition filed by Rao Munawar Khan, advocate submitted that earlier impugned order was passed without affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
Additional Advocate General appearing before the court submitted that the petitioner was summoned prior to giving the order but he admitted position is that he (petitioner) was not associated with any proceedings nor was heard in the matter, prior to passing of the impugned order.
The court allowed the petition seeking setting aside of the order earlier passed by the respondent (Home Department, Punjab) in which provisional permission was withdrawn.
The court ordered that the respondent will afford full opportunity hearing to the petitioner and pass fresh order in the matter.
