Former President Pakistan Film Producers Association and Chairman Federation Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) standing committee, Shaukat Zaman has contradicted the news item "Govt takes action against APGMJA" published on October 5, and termed it as baseless.
In a press statement, he said that this news item contained misquoting about five other associations and reflected prejudiced reporting favouring certain group at a time when the election process in FPCCI has commenced.
Shaukat Zaman said, "In the said news item the reporter has misconstrued the entire story. First of all the matter is under litigation and furthermore 5 another associations as mentioned in the news item are regularly conducting meetings and filing annual return to SECP, DTO and FPCCI and there is no action against them by the director trade organisation."
The clarification further said, "It is pertinent to mention here that there are 128 associations and 41 chambers affiliated with FPCCI and the commerce reporter has wrongly pointed out 5 associations which reflects prejudice of the reporter to these associations, which support one particular group.
This prejudiced reporting can also be cited in the previous news items of the incumbent reporter."
