There was traffic disorder in the Clifton area specially around the Schon Centre on Saturday afternoon following special security arrangements made for the visit of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to the Mohatta Palace Museum.
At Schon roundabout in Clifton, the traffic police held up the traffic coming from the Clifton bridge for over fifteen minutes whereas the traffic coming from the Shireen Jinnah Colony towards the old Submarine crossing was allowed to flow, it was only after many ladies, invited to the museum exhibition opening went the traffic policemen, asking them to open the traffic that it was released. Even after this, a very large number of invitees reached the Mohatta Palace function very late.
However, they were lucky not to miss the opening ceremony by Shaukat Aziz who himself came at 4:35 pm into the main area where it was held. After the ceremony was over and people left the Mohatta Palace there were again traffic jams at the different crossings on main Clifton Road, which continued till late in the evening.
