District Nazim Multan Riaz Hussain Qureshi, on Sunday visited the site of bomb blast in Rashidabad along with councillors and his MPA son Mueen Qureshi and assured the owners of shops and homes which were badly damaged due to bomb blast that these would be renovated at District Government's expense.
He asked the building department to assess the losses of these inhabitants so that financial assistance could be provided to them.
He said that government should organise a special anti terrorism force to combat the terrorism and a resolution in this regard would also be adopted in next meeting of district assembly to be held on October 13-14.
District Nazim also met the people of the area and assured them full co-operation.
He said that he had allowed for holding Azam Tariq Conference in Multan in good faith, however neither organisers of this rally nor law enforcing agencies were responsible for this mishap.
He said that he was not perturbed with the show cause notice served on him by the Punjab government and he had replied it.
Former speaker of National Assembly Syed Fakhar Imam has alleged that terrorism was being promoted to divert the attention of masses from the uniform and Multan incident was deliberately occurred.
In a press statement issued here on Sunday Syed Fakhar Imam vehemently condemned the Sialkot and Multan incidents which took scores of innocent people.
