President George W. Bush held on to a slim lead in an ABC News poll released on Sunday, getting 50 percent of the vote against 46 percent of likely voters who supported his opponent, Sen. John Kerry.
The poll, taken Wednesday through Saturday, found more voters said Kerry won the first presidential debate but were evenly split on which candidate had the edge in Friday's matchup. The latest poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
A telephone survey of likely voters from Tuesday through Thursday also showed 50 percent would vote for Bush and 47 percent for Kerry. A similar poll from Monday to Wednesday showed Bush with 49 percent and Kerry with 47 percent.
