The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AJKCCI) here on Tuesday unanimously nominated AJK business community leader Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed as candidate for the office of the president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for the next term.
The election to the top slot of the FPCCI is scheduled to be held in December this year.
A formal meeting of the AJKCCI executive committee, chaired by its President Raja Mohammad Jamil held here late Monday, decided to nominate Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed as a candidate for the top slot of the FPCCI in recognition of his long meritorious services for the promotion of the business activities and the speedy economic progress as well as the prosperity of the country, including AJK.
Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed has the distinguished career in the business field of AJK. He is also the life member of the FPCCI and the Pak-UK Business Council Director.
He has held various responsible positions, including as two-time AJKCCI president, FPCCI vice-president and zonal chairman and its managing committee member for two terms in the past.
He is considered to be the most successful businessman of AJK as he launched various giant business projects in this region, including automobile, steel, textile and the polypropylene products in AJK.
Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed emerged as one of the pioneer industrialists in AJK after he entered the business field in AJK being an active industrialist heading the biggest business group of the area - the Azad Group of Companies - for over last three decades.
The full 20-member house also unanimously decided to nominate Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed as a candidate for the office of member of the FPCCI Managing Committee on the reserve seat besides for the top slot of the FPCCI.
