A Japanese delegation is due on October 16 to negotiate yen loan resumption to Pakistan, official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday.
The sources said that the delegation would hold a meeting with the officials of Economic Affairs Division (EAD) for resumption of loan to Pakistan.
Old projects, which were incomplete due to deferred assistance by Japan, would also came under discussion, the sources said.
It is expected that Japan will agree to fund incomplete projects and also earmark assistance for new projects.
The sources said that the Japanese government had already assured resumption of loan. This delegation would take up the ongoing and new projects, they added.
The Japanese government last month assured Pakistan of nearly $200 million assistance for sectoral development.
The sources said that the Government of Japan wanted to assist Pakistan in water and power and communication sectors.
They also said that the feasibility studies had already been submitted to the Government of Japan for water and communication sectors.
The delegation is coming to see and discuss loan disbursement situation and further prospects of loan in Pakistan.
According to economic pundits, the yen loan resumption would further strengthen bilateral relations between both the countries.
