Notice has been issued to Federal Employees Housing Foundation to show cause for non-compliance of directives which the Lahore High Court had issued earlier for accommodating the employees of the Federal Shariat Court in the official housing schemes of Capital Development Authority.
The orders were passed by a single Bench of LHC, Rawalpindi bench comprising of Justice Muhammad Muzzamil Khan on Wednesday on a complaint from the employees welfare association of the Federal Shariat Court.
The Association recalled an earlier order of the LHC directing the Foundation to share five percent of its quota of plots reserved for the government employees in each new sector opened for development with the FSC employees.
In the recent offerings made in G-12 and G-13 sectors, the Association complained the Foundation had allotted 25 plots to 60 employees of the LHC, 25 plots to the 190 employees of the Election Commission while just 18 plots were offered to the 222 employees of the FSC.
The next date for hearing will be fixed after the Rawalpindi Bench of the LHC receives an explanation from the Foundation.
Advocate Abdur Rahman Siddiqui appeared for FSC Employees Welfare Association.
LHC ADJOURNS PLF PETITION TILL OCTOBER 19:
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned to October 19 the proceedings in a petition filed by President Pakistan Lawyers Forum (PLF) A K Dogar when he was still arguing on the point of jurisdiction of the court and locus standi of the petitioner.
The petitioner has challenged action of the government, sending back the former Chief Minister Punjab and PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed SHO Dijkot (Faisalabad) to produce one Bhola before the court on October 14, and observed if SHO failed to do so, DIG must appear before the court.
The court also directed the SHO to return all the articles taken by him to police station to the petitioner Ghulam Fatima.
The petitioner through her counsel M. D. Tahir contended that the respondent police officials on September 25 came to her house and taken into custody seven persons. The police demanded bribe for release of detained persons.
The petitioner approached the court, which deputed court bailiff for the recovery of detainees. The court bailiff informed the court that except Bhola all the detainees were found in the police station. SHO informed that the accused was arrested on a complaint.
The bailiff however informed the court that neither their names were mentioned in the FIR nor entry of arrest was found in the record.
The court set the detainee at liberty and directed the SHO to produce rest of the detainee before the court on October 14, and rose for the day.
