Interior Minster Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao lauded the services of those policemen who embraced martyrdom in terrorist encounters.
He was speaking at the dinner reception by the Islamabad police here on Wednesday.
The dinner was also attended by Minister of State Dr Wasim Shehzad and high-ups from judiciary and administration. The minister praised police officials and jawans who perform their responsibilities with devotion and commitment. He gave away shields to policemen who showed outstanding professionalism against terrorists.
He lauded the services of police constable Tanveer who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists and gave a shield to his widow. The minister praised the present working relationship between police and public and added that the Islamabad police was a symbol for other parts of the country.
