Declining trend was witnessed in the open market on Saturday as the rupee lost further five paisa against dollar for buying and selling at Rs 60.10 and Rs 60.20, moneychangers said.
INTER-BANK RATES: were not issued due to the banks' closure on account of Zakat deduction on the first day of Ramazan, dealers said.
The fluctuation in the rates was very minor in the absence of normal activity due to international markets closure, local banks holiday and partly because of first day of the Holy month of Ramazan.
The euro continued its riding over the rupee's weakness, showing further gain of 55 paisa for buying and selling at Rs 74.50 and Rs 74.80, dealers said.
It seemed that the single European currency might the mark of Rs 75 next week if dollar continued its slide versus the leading currencies in the world markets, analysts said.
The dollar dropped to nearly eight-month lows against euro after a flurry of mostly disappointing US economic reports cast doubts about the pace of future Federal Reserve interest rate hikes.

The rupee maintained downward slide and further lost its value by five-paisa against the greenback in the local currency markets on Saturday.According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at Friday's closing levels of Rs 60.00 and Rs 60.10 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. The investors' interest in dollar's buying remained intact, which helped depreciation in the rupee's worth. At the end, the dollar closed marginally higher at Rs 60.05 and Rs 60.15 on buying and selling counters, respectively, the dealers added.
Similarly, the local currency remained under pressure and registered decline in its value against the pound sterling. The British currency was purchased at Rs 107.65 and was sold at Rs 107.85 as compared to Rs 107.30 and Rs 107.70 of Friday, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 59.90 (buying) and Rs 60 (selling) against same overnight value. It remained firm against the rupee and closed at Rs 59.90 (buying) and Rs 60 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 107.50 (buying) and Rs 107.70 (selling) against last rate of Rs 107.20 (buying) and Rs 107.40 (selling). It did not show any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 107.50 (buying) and Rs 107.70 (selling).
Euro opened at Rs 73.70 (buying) and Rs 73.80 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe any change in the evening session and closed at Rs 73.70 (buying) and Rs 73.80 (selling).
Canadian dollar opened at Rs 46.50 (buying) and Rs 46.60 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe any further change in the second session and closed at Rs 46.50 (buying) and Rs 46.60 (selling).
