Official results of the elections of Northern Areas Legislative Council and Local Government in Baltistan have been announced by the election commissioners in both districts of Skardu and Ghangche.
Official results announced by the election commissioner Skardu declared Sikander Ali, Haji Fida Muhammad Nashad and Imran Nadeem of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q and Wazir Walayat Ali and Syed Asad Zaidi independents and Sheikh Nisar Hussain Sarbaz of the PPP Parliamentarian elected officially for six seats of N. Areas Legislative Council from Skardu district.
For general seats of Skardu District Council, Haji Muhammad Ali, Raja Jalal Hussain, Raja Javed, Wazir Fida Ali, Haji Fazal Ali, Gulam Abbas, Wazir Gulam Abbas, Fida Hussain, Gulam, Ali Muhammad and Fida Hussain Inqalabi were elected officially. For Skardu Municipal Committee Haji Gulam Haider, Wazir Anayat Ali, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Afzal, Ahmad Ali, Muhammad Shabbir, Kh. Muhammad Yaqub, S.Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Khan Chaudary, Iqhlaq Hussain, Akbar Ali, Muhammad Tahir, Haji Muhammad Hussain and Hadim Hussain elected. In Ghangche district, according to the election commissioner, Haji Muhammad Iqbal independent, Muhammad Ibrahim Sanai of the PML-Q and Ismaiel of the PPP Parliamentarian elected for Northern Areas Legislative Council.
For nine seats of Ghanche District Council, Yahya Khan Advocate, Muhammad Iqbal, Mushtaq Hussain and Manzore Hussain were elected. For Municipal Committee Khaplu, former chairman Muhammad Yousuf, vice-chairman Musa Khan, Gulam Muhammad, Gulam Rasool, Shabbir Hussain, Sulman, Muhammad Choo, Gulzar Hussain, Gulam Nabi and Gulam Muhammad were elected officially.
In Skardu 212 members were elected for 31 union councils while in Ghanch 39 members were elected for 14 union councils.
Now the members of the Northern Areas Legislative Council after taking oath will elect five women and three technocrats for the council and then will elect speaker, deputy speaker and deputy chief executive. The district councils, municipal committees and union councils will elect chairman and vice-chairman and two members each for district councils.
