Lieutenant General Leonardo Tricarico, Chief of Staff Italian Air Force, along with his wife and two members delegation will be visiting Pakistan from October 22 to 24, on the invitation of Pakistan Air Force. During the visit, the delegation will call on Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat Chief of Pakistan Air Force.
Lieutenant General Leonardo Tricarico, Chief of Staff Italian Air Force was born in 1942 and commissioned in the Italian Air Force in 1962. With 3000 flying hours to his credit, he has flown various combat aircraft including F-104 'Star fighter'.
During the last 43 years he has held various command, staff and instructional appointments that includes positions in the Advanced Jet Flight School and Fighter Wings, Chief of Office in the Intelligence Sector, Commander Air Force Academy, Commander of the Nato's 5th Allied Tactical Air Force based in Vicenza, Operational Commander of the Italian Air Force and Deputy Chief of the entire Multinational Forces employed during the Balkan conflict.
He was appointed as Chief of the Italian Air Force in August, 2004.
For his meritorious services, he has been awarded several civil and military awards, including US' Legion of Merit, French Legion d' Honoured, German Federal Republic's Great Cross for Merit and Peruvian Honorary Pilot's Badge. He is married to Madam Maria Pia.
