Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Friday said Police Order 2000 would also be enforced in Islamabad and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
The minister said this while speaking at a workshop. He also introduced community policing to turn police from a force into a service.
He said that in consultation with the provinces, some changes are being made in the Police Order to address concerns of the legislators.
The interior minister said the institutions of Public Safety Commission and Public Complaint Authority meant to amalgamate under the amendments in Police Order.
"District Public Safety Commission would also be set up in Islamabad and pending local bodies' elections, members of the National Assembly and senators from the Capital could be appointed as members of the commission, besides some nominated members," he said.
