Two shipping berths and the public silo at Brazil's main grains port of Paranagua will be closed for maintenance starting in mid-November, the port authority said on Friday.
Berth 14 will close from November 15 to December 20 and berth 12 from December 20 until end-January. However berth 13, which is also connected to the public silo, will stay open. The public silo will shut from January 5-12.
Most of the 2 million tonnes of 2003/04 (Oct/Sept) soy which still have to be shipped will be loaded before maintenance starts. So far 5 million tonnes of soy have been exported from Paranagua.
