The killer of DPO Narowal was killed in an encounter with police at Atari Darbar Pak-Arab schemes Nishtar Colony area here on early Sunday morning.
According to police, two out-laws, Jafar and Refaqat, lifted a motorcycle (LRR-2795) from Kotlakhpat area, and drove it away. On receiving information, SHO Kot Lakhpat along with policemen chased the criminals and took them off near Arab scheme where an encounter took place between police and out-laws.
As a result, Jafar Hussain received serious bullet injuries and died instantly while his accomplice Rafaqat Butt managed to escape after abandoning motorcycle.
The body of Jafar was sent to the city morgue for autopsy.
