The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and East Carolina University of USA have agreed to held joint classes via video-linking.
Vice-chancellors of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Professor (AJKU) Dr Manzoor Hussain and East Carolina University Dr Rosina Chia singed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through video-linking at a live signing ceremony held here at the university's library and in East Carolina University (ECU).
The agreement envisaged close relationship between AJKU and ECU in term of faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research projects, joint academic and scientific activities and exchange of materials of common interests.
The US embassy provided financial and technical support for holding of joint classes between both the universities through video-linking.
While talking to media men after singing ceremony, AJK university vice-chancellor Dr Manzoor hoped that holding of joint cultural classes will help in brining people of the two countries more closer to each other, besides contributing significantly to understand different cultures of two countries.
Kashmir Information Resource Centre director Muhammad Yaqoob Chaudhry was also present on the occasion.
The US embassy has also provided books worth $20,000 to the university.
