US Trade Representative Robert Zoellick will give up his post even if President George W Bush wins the November two election, a trade source in Germany said on Tuesday.
"He has had enough of the post and will look for another job. After the election, there will certainly be a new trade representative," the source said, adding Zoellick was determined to go even if Bush encouraged him to stay. A spokesman for Zoellick in Washington had no immediate comment on the report.
Zoellick, who assumed his office in February 2001, has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Treasury Secretary John Snow, whom Bush seems likely to allow a graceful exit should the president win a second term.
