Singapore bunker prices fell on Thursday, tracking lower 380-cst fuel oil cargo values.
Suppliers pegged 380-cst bunker fuel oil levels at $202-$204 a tonne, down $5 from Wednesday. 180-cst prices were at $211-$213.
"At last the prices have come off and I think most bunker suppliers are relieved that it has finally happened although no one knows whether it will last," a Singapore-based supplier said.
"Demand has improved and at least some shipowners have returned to the market. Although fixing levels, at $202-$203 a tonne, are offering only a slight premium to cargo values, most suppliers are keen to sell."
An independent sold 1,200 tonnes of 380-cst, for delivery on November 3, at $202.50 a tone.
