Minister of State for Water and Power Engineer Amir Muqam has said Pakistan Muslim League would participate in the bye-elections in NA-35 Malakand to ensure solution of problems of people as the NWFP government had failed to provide them basic needs of life.
Addressing a press conference here at PML House along with Anwar Saif Ullah, brother of PML candidate Saleem Saif Ullah, the Minister of State said PML accepted the challenge of bye-election and was contesting the election as 'test case' to check the popularity of the party in NWFP.
Amir Muqam said the PML would face its opponents politically in the bye-elections. President Pakistan Awami Party Fanoos Gujar also announced his full support to PML candidate in the bye-elections of NA-35.
Engineer Amir Muqam said the NWFP government had not taken adequate measures to solve the problems of the people in the Malakand area. He said people were with PML and added the bye-elections in NA-35 would be a test case for the support of PML as well as MMA in the area. The Minister of State further said although MMA candidate won the election from NA-35 in 2002 but added the situation had been changed now and the people were with PML.
