Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that government is taking sincere and serious efforts to improve law and order situation in the country, and a task force should be constituted to stop industrial robberies.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to a LCCI delegation headed by the Lahore Chamber President Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman called on him at Islamabad says a spokesman of the LCCI here on Saturday.
The delegation comprising Senior Vice President Sohail Lashari, Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad, Executive Committee members Aftab Vohra, Mian Shafqat Ali, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Sheikh Mohammad Younas, Irfan Qaiser, Abdul Basit, Mohsin Banday also discussed overall business scenario with the Prime Minister.
The Lahore businessmen, who stayed with the Prime Minister well over an hour, discussed various issues with him. On their pointation about lacunas in taxation system, the Prime Minister promised that taxation system is being modified and a simplified system would soon be in place.
The Prime Minister said that investment environment in the country is conducive and there exist a lot of business opportunities, which should be availed of by potential investors.
About smuggling issue, the Prime Minister promised with the LCCI team that network of agencies is being strengthened to curb this menace, which is causing a huge loss to the industry. He said that economy was well on way and the present government would continue to strive for the well being of the common man.
