Sugar prices were higher on the week's opening session on the grain market as demand increased by the consumers during the month of Ramazan, dealers said.
On the cereals side, sugar went up by Rs 40 to Rs 1970 and Rs 1985 for 100 kg. The Bajra prices, however, lost Rs 150 to Rs 1150 and Rs 1250 on fresh arrivals.
Masoor Iran picked up Rs 200 to Rs 2400 and Rs 2500 and Masoor dal rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3100 and 3200 on tight supply position, brokers said.
On the seeds side, til Sindh new lost Rs 65 and Rs 125 to Rs 3100 and Rs 3200 on fresh arrivals. Other items maintained their overnight levels.
