The District Zakat and Ushr Committee will distribute Rs 110 million Zakat among the needy, deserving and destitute of the region through 1,125 Zakat committees of the district. This was stated by District Zakat Committee President Raja Mushtaq Ahmed here last Friday while talking to media persons.
Besides, distributing the subsistence allowance among the needy, the Zakat committee will also give them extra Eid allowance of Rs 500 per head, said Mushtaq.
He said the provincial Zakat committee has released the amount for the disbursement and local Zakat committee were asked to provide lists of the deserving people for the distribution of subsistence allowance among them in the third week of Ramazan, adding the Zakat in other heads will be distributed after Eidul Fitr. He said besides Zakat, the deserving people would be given an extra amount of Rs 500 each as Eid allowance.
