British defence firm BAE Systems has been selected by the Dutch government for a combat vehicle contract worth 891 million euros ($1.14 billion), the Sunday Telegraph newspaper reported. The Dutch government on Friday approved the award of the contract to Land Systems Hagglunds, which BAE acquired when it bought British tank maker Alvis earlier this year, the newspaper said, citing Dutch ministry documents.
The paper added that the award had yet to be approved by the Dutch parliament.
BAE could not be reached to comment on the report.
