The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned to December 06, the proceedings in an election petition against provincial Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal.
The court also directed the respondent minister to appear before the court on next date of hearing for recording his statement.
The petitioner Akram Khan, who contested the election against the respondent, has challenged his election for being defaulter of utility bills.
Earlier, the petitioner, while recording his statement before the court, contended that the respondent was defaulter of utility bills but he did not mention the same in his nomination papers. He prayed to the court to declare the respondent election as null and void and also direct the respondent Election Commission to announce re-election in PP-82 Gujranwala.
