The present regime, headed by General Pervez Musharraf, has failed to provide any relief to the people while the opposition, particularly the PPP leadership, was being victimised.
"Asif Ali Zardari, Makhdoom Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Malik Salahuddin Dogar are behind bars, while Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif were exiled."
It was stated by Salimur Rehman Mayo, chief organiser of Asif Ali Zardari Release Committee (AZRC), Mirza Nazir Baig, provincial president and
Sardar Azam Khan, organiser of Khanewal AZRC, while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
They said that the present regime had ridiculed the democracy by getting approved the twin-office bill. They condemned the behaviour of Federal Law Minister Wasi Zafar and Dr Sher Afgan and said that they had attempted to manhandle Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi and Raza Rabbani and used filthy language about Naheed Khan.
They said: "Wasi Zafar and Sher Afgan must offer an apology to Naheed Khan and senators otherwise AZRC will expand its protest move throughout the country."
"After the demand of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Central President of the Muslim League, and Mushahid Hussain for the release of Asif Zardari, Yousaf Raza Gilani and Javed Hashmi there was no justification to keep them behind bars," they said.
